Omega Real Estate Associates would like to announce a new client located at 96 Commerce Street in Williston, Vermont – Green Mountain Solar! Their doors at this location will be fully open for business on February 1, 2020. Here are some interview questions we asked Paul Lesure of GMS and his responses.
What does your business do?
Green Mountain Solar proudly serves residential, commercial and municipal clients throughout the state of Vermont. We are a small but strong solar business which means we have a low overhead and can pass those savings on to you. All of our installations are performed by our in-house staff – never subcontracted. Green Mountain Solar hopes you will give us the opportunity to provide you with a custom design quote for your PV Solar or high-efficiency HVAC project.
How did you get started in this business/industry?
Though Green Mountain Solar is a newer entity to the Vermont solar market, the partner owners of the company have an extensive solar background. After working together for several years to develop the market for AllEarth solar trackers, they partnered to found Green Mountain Solar. Our goal at Green Mountain Solar is to help our customers control their energy by providing reliable cost effective long- term solar energy solutions and the highest levels of customer service.
Paul Lesure- General Manager
Paul entered the solar market with the Vermont solar manufacturer AllEarth Renewables. In his tenure there he gained a range of experience in a number of roles. Initially, he was responsible for the day to day management of project development for several 150kw solar projects within the state. As AllEarth moved away from a developer model and into a sales role, Paul worked as the sales account manager for northern New England as well as the Midwest where he was tasked with helping recruit and train dealers to develop and install solar projects using the AllEarth solar tracker. By the end of his tenure, Paul had worked his way up to National Sale Manager and was leading the tracker sales effort nationwide.
Alan Gauntt- CEO
Alan founded Granite State Solar in 2008. Over their time they have done 1000’s of installs for both residential and commercial customers. Through high quality workmanship and customer service, they’ve established themselves as a leading solar company in New England and are consistently in the top 500 solar companies nationwide.
What is your customer base? Who could use your product/service?
We work with commercial, residential and municipal customers to help offset their energy usage with solar power. We also do heat pump installs to help convert people away from fossil fuel based heating over to electric. Any home or business owner looking to go green for their properties or turn their electrical costs from expense to investment can use us.
What is your goal in this new space?
We’ve been growing fast. After two years in our original space, we’re in need of a lot larger location. This new space will give our team more room to work and allow us to store more product and equipment. Getting out of our original cramped quarters will also make us more efficient in our work.
What are you most excited for in the next year?
Continuing to help more Vermonter’s go solar. We’ve had a great couple years in the business, and are excited to continue growing and helping more Vermonters take control of their energy use with solar.
